Rose Nixon
September 17, 1942 – July 25, 2020
Rose Ellen Nixon, 77, of Sweet Home, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 in Lebanon, OR.
She was born in Viking, Minnesota to Joseph and Viola (Jennings) Dadey. Rose had six siblings. Her family moved to Lebanon, OR when she was 13 years old.
She married Earl Reeder Jr., they had 5 children. David, Mark, Roger, Deborah, and Jeff. Mark died at the age of 4 from cystic fibrosis. Later, Rose and Earl divorced.
In December of 1969 Rose married Lloyd Nixon. Lloyd had a daughter, Sonya, from a previous marriage. Rose and Lloyd had a son, Charles. They moved to Sweet Home and raised 6 children and one grandson. Rose worked over thirty years gathering, buying, selling and managing a forest by-product company. She also enjoyed camping, traveling, sewing, baking, making Christmas centerpieces, and her flower garden.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd, her son Mark, brothers Patrick Dadey and Paul Ranum. She is survived by her sons David Reeder of Peoria, Roger Reeder, Jeff Reeder, and Charles Nixon of Sweet Home, her daughters Deborah Goss (Delbert), and Sonya Vaughn, of Lebanon, many grandchildren, a grandson Joseph Reeder, whom she raised, many great-grandchildren, and several that call her Grandma, brothers Leo Dadey (Kathy) and Dan Dadey, sisters Elizabeth Israel and Sarah Healey, and sister in-law Betty Dadey, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Waterloo picnic shelter #1 on Sunday, August 23rd at 2:00 PM. Bring fond memory or favorite story of Rose and a potluck dish.
