It is with great sadness that the family of Bonnie Jean Tilden share the passing of her life on November 6, 2020 in Albany, Oregon. Bonnie loved the Lord and her family rests in the assurance that she is no longer suffering and is happy in Heaven with her Lord Jesus Christ.
In 1934, Bonnie was born on the Umpqua River located in Reedsport Oregon to parents Newton and Bertha Cannon. She began working at the young age of 9 as a commercial fisherman to earn money for school clothes. Throughout her life she held many jobs including working on a dairy farm, at an orchard baking pies, as a taxi dispatcher, waitress and as a telephone operator. Bonnie loved to paint, research family genealogy, and enjoy nature as well as spend time with her family. She was always happy to lend a listening ear and provide guidance and support. She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Mary Hartley (Lebanon, OR) Kathleen McDorman and husband David McDorman (Galveston, IN), Carol Cardwell (Ocala, FL) and Robert Tilden (Moorcroft, WY). Bonnie is also survived by 6 grandkids, 16 great grandkids and 1 great great grandchild on the way. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Walter Tilden, parents Newton and Bertha Cannon, siblings Katherine, Ruby, Elmer and son-in-law Ken Hartley.
“I’d Like to Make a Difference”-Helen Bush
“God has given me a place on earth to be there for a while. I hope that as I’m passing through, I can make somebody smile. I want to make life easier for all those I meet. I ask God for his blessings to the strangers on the street. I hope I’ll never fail a friend if I can help somehow. I want to be as generous as my resources will allow. And when my life on earth is done, it will be my final plea. Let someone, somewhere think or say, ‘You made a difference to me’”.
A memorial service will be held for her as soon as circumstances allow. In-leu of flowers, Bonnie’s family would request that you make a donation to Evergreen Hospice House of Albany Oregon.
